For five days and four nights, we are taking over a private home tucked into Cle Elum, Washington, surrounded by mountains, evergreens, and hopefully a whole lot of January snow. This is where we will gather around the table, spread out the laptops and notebooks, work through the hard business stuff, eat really good food, and let the conversations keep going long after the official sessions end. We chose a house instead of a conference room because some of the best TCC moments happen in between, and we want this retreat to have just as much space to breathe, connect, and reset as it does to get the work done.

MEET YOUR HOST
Hey friend, I’m Lauren, founder of The Cowboy Creative. I’ve spent the better part of my adult life building businesses, changing businesses, growing businesses, questioning businesses, and learning firsthand just how easy it is to get so buried in the day-to-day that you stop making time to actually think about where you’re going.
Over the years, I’ve built a marketing agency, grown The Cowboy Creative, worked in media, hosted and produced a daily agriculture podcast, taught marketing, and worked alongside businesses across the creative and agriculture industries. Somewhere along the way, I became just as fascinated by how businesses work as I was by the creative work that got me started.
That’s really where this retreat comes from. I’ve watched incredibly talented creatives stay stuck because talent alone does not build a sustainable business, and I’ve lived enough versions of that myself to know how valuable it is to get out of your normal environment, ask better questions, and finally make the decisions you’ve been putting off. I’m not bringing you to Washington because I have some magical formula that makes entrepreneurship easy. I’m bringing you because I know what can happen when smart, driven people sit around a table, talk honestly, and actually do the work.

There are no different ticket tiers based on bedroom or bed type.
Everyone pays the same retreat rate and receives the same experience.
Room assignments will be coordinated separately once the attendee group is finalized based on the home's layout and group needs.

If you are unable to attend, your registration may be transferred to another eligible attendee with approval from The Cowboy Creative.

You do not need to be full-time or at a specific revenue level.
You should, however, have an existing business that you're serious about growing intentionally.

The Cowboy Creative grew from the western photography world, and many attendees are photographers, but this retreat is intentionally focused on business ownership, not photography technique.
Western creatives, designers, marketers, content creators and other entrepreneurs are welcome if the business-focused experience fits what you're looking for.

No. This retreat is intentionally different from our traditional TCC photography retreats.
The January Business Reset is focused on business strategy, implementation, community and giving you the space to work on what you're building.
Your camera can come to Washington if you want it to, but it isn't the reason we're gathering.

Plan to fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).
Cle Elum sits east of Seattle along the I-90 corridor, and attendees will receive detailed travel guidance and group coordination information before the retreat. The route crosses Snoqualmie Pass, so winter travel conditions are something we'll actively plan around rather than pretend don't exist. WSDOT specifically maintains winter operations for the I-90 corridor between North Bend and Cle Elum.

Yes, it's Washington in January.
Snow is part of what makes this experience what it is, but it also means we'll take transportation planning seriously.
We'll monitor conditions leading into the retreat, help attendees coordinate arrival times and rental transportation, and share current travel information before everyone heads toward Cle Elum.
Attendees should plan for winter driving conditions and build reasonable flexibility into travel plans.

Once the attendee group is finalized, we'll create a private group chat so everyone can compare flight schedules.
Attendees arriving at similar times can choose to coordinate rental cars and split transportation costs to Cle Elum.
We'll provide more specific timing recommendations as the retreat approaches.
